Yep. We talk about the Fulton Mall again. Also: Luftenburg's move, the attempt to alter Fresno's 2035 General Plan, Fresno Covers Fresno album, Mark Scott slipping away, Fresno's closeness to it all and more!

Here is Episode 17 of Flowing With Famous.

*Hosts: Joshua Tehee and Mikey Seay. Audio editing by Reid May.

*Flowing With Famous is also on iTunes and Stitcher for those that like listening options - just search 'em up and subscribe. A nice iTunes review would be hella appreciated. We're also on Twitter!

Made connections lead me to a new venue. A house venue called The Cellar Door in Annandale, VA. Haven't been to a house show in long time. All four bands - Pigeon Down (ex-members of Left Unsaide, VA???), Slow Mover (Boston),Hulk Smash (Philadelphia), and Gradius (Annandale) - played well and were very friendly to me as an outsider. Everyone else I talked to at the show was classy. A great experience. AND... I got a "chainsaw through the head" shirt from Slow Mover !!!!!!

Because of a recent post on facebook by a rabid fan, I finally got the kick in the pants I needed to complete this task of once and for all compiling, remastering, and releasing all of the Mehreideran recordings I have. If you are unfamiliar with Mehreideran, don't feel alone. We recorded music and performed sporadically in Fresno, CA in 2005 and 2006. We, being myself, Reid May (Trumpet Solo, Air Fresno, Time Phobia, Magic Whores, Pendulum, Soiled Doves), Greer McGettrick (The Mallard, Rademacher), and Mehran Herd, a.k.a. Eatcho. With tons of improvising, wildness, and weirdness, these recordings showcase our little slice of expression in the local music scene. For reasons I need to explore further before I rant on them too much here, it seemed like a sort of renaissance time in that town.

So within Mehreideran - As Seen On MySpace are all the digital and biological memories I have. If anyone reading this has anything to add to the archive, contact me: sweetsearecords[at]gmail.com.

Ode to thee, oh hometown! Oh, how glad I am to not be enduring thine immense heat wave!

Please feel free to checketh thee out the latest Switching Title post and podcast.

I'm too lazy to come up with something new to say about this episode of Flowing With Famous so I'm going to copy what was posted on the podbean site about the episode for my post. We're all in this together any way.

Scratch that; I can't think of anything new to say except that I'm wondering about the relevance of the name of the podcast, Flowing With Famous. Yes, we flow, but the show isn't tied to the website Fresno Famous any more. If it is, I simply can't tell. But I'm just a sound guy. Maybe we're holding out for McClatchy to buy us out... Yes. Yes we are. Episode 15 is worth at least 1 million alone!

Yes, my chronology is whackadoo around here sometimes, but who's paying attention? Here's one from a show of some of my musical heroes. I wont say much else, except Tomahawk rules! And buy their relatively new album "Oddfellows". Check out Bootlegger's Delight #7.

My three brothers and I just recorded the fourth episode of our show MMORPG (May Music Online Podcast Gibbs). Go ahead and check it out on the May Brother's Digest blog site. We review the eldest brother's second mix CD and compare baldness. Have a great time.

I took a vacation to my hometown, Fresno. Oddly enough I couldn't meet up with the hosts to engineer live for them, so they went ahead and published an episode without my editing (no matter what the show notes say). That is Flowing With Famous #13 which is totally good and makes me question my value in the project.
But who am I kidding? The previous statement was more of an attempt for humility. I know I add some sweet things to the show and love participating. I'm back sweetening on Episode #14.

It's been over a year since I posted the last Switching Title recording. I'm not making any excuses. I like that I took so long, because the struggle of knowing how to finish and publish the thoughts brought me to a few more realizations, which sum up to: Moment by moment an idea can evolve. It may read or sound the same at any given point in eternity. But there is the chance that it could be different in those same instances. Bam!

The twelfth episode of the Flowing With Famous Podcast is posted where you can hear some great folks from my hometown talk about things important to the central valley of California, and I know you're interested in what the hell is going on there. Some people call it the air pollution toilet bowl of California, or the bible belt of California, and even the agricultural capitol of the world. It spawned me, and I miss it sometimes. See you in two weeks Fresno!

This episode features:
  • Producer Becky from the only comedy podcast I listen to - Dorktown
  • Fresno's love for country music
  • The town's everlasting saga of restaurant and venue closings and re-openings
  • Band of the episode: Light Thieves

Check it out HERE.
